In the New Castle County Courthouse, there are 44 courtrooms that are capable of providing Electronic Evidence Presentation through the use of Integral systems or portable carts. In order for attorneys to present evidence, the New Castle County Courthouse provides the following:
Courtroom 12-B, Court of Chancery, Courtrooms 6C, 6D, 8B, and 8C of Superior Court are equipped with fixed Evidence Presentation Systems (see photos below). In Superior's Courtroom 8B, 8C and 6D, jury monitors are also located within the jury boxes for evidence presentations.
These systems all provide audio/visual equipment to allow evidence to be presented from computer system presentations, DVD's, CDROM's, VCR Tapes and document cameras. Evidence is displayed on computer monitors at the bench, witness stand, attorney tables and on a wall mounted 50" plasma monitors. An
integral video conferencing system in that also makes use of the evidence presentation system and internal audio for remote communications is also included in 12B.
All the courtrooms include a state of the art sound system as well as the capability of using one of the portable evidence presentation carts.
These portable evidence presentation carts can be moved from one courtroom to another. The carts contain most of the components that can be used today to present evidence. Every courtroom is equipped with recessed projection screens that can be dropped from the ceiling as needed.
