Apply for Clerkship

To apply for a Court of Chancery clerkship, please refer to the Clerkship Timeline page for information about available positions.

Applications must include:

  1. Clerkship Application *Applications are no longer being accepted for the 2023-2024 term.
  2. Cover Letter (one for each judge to whom you are applying for a clerkship)
  3. Resume (must accompany the application)
  4. Transcript
  5. Writing Sample
  6. Letters of Recommendation (minimum of two, for each judge to whom you are applying for a clerkship)

Please send individual PDFs of the set of materials listed above as attachments to the following e-mail address: chancery_clerkships@delaware.gov.

Please use the following naming convention: [Clerkship Starting Year].[Last Name].[First Name].[Document Name]. For example: 2023.Doe.Jane.Resume.pdf

Applicants are encouraged to apply early and should supplement their applications with additional grades and other material information that become available after their initial submissions via the above e-mail. Updated documents should use the following naming convention: [Clerkship Starting Year].[Last Name].[First Name].UPDATED.[Document Name]. For example: 2023.Doe.Jane.UPDATED.Transcript.pdf

Interviews generally will be conducted on a rolling basis beginning in March of each year for clerkships commencing approximately eighteen months later.
