Hours of Operation

The Courthouse is open weekdays from 8:15 am to 4:30 pm. The Courthouse is handicapped accessible. If you have special needs, please call 302-735-1909.

• Kent County Courthouse Dress Code Policy
  Appropriate attire is expected for any appearance in Court and should be consistent with the seriousness and dignity of the judicial process. This maintains decorum and shows respect for our laws and Courts. View full dress code policy.
  
  
• Food and Beverage Policy
  The public is prohibited from bringing any beverage in an "open" container and/or "unsealed" plastic bottle containing consumable beverages. The public may bring food and beverages in non-glassed enclosed containers into the courthouse for consumption in the cafeteria only. No food or beverages may be consumed in any public area within the courthouse other than the cafeteria.

Take I-95 SOUTH
Take exit 98 for DE-8 toward DOWNTOWN DOVER/LITTLE CREEK
Turn RIGHT onto DE-8/NORTH LITTLE CREEK ROAD
Turn LEFT onto US-13 SOUTH
Turn RIGHT onto EAST LOOCKERMAN STREET
Continue onto LOOCKERMAN PLAZA
Turn LEFT onto FEDERAL STREET.
Kent County Courthouse will be on your RIGHT.

Directions to the Courthouse from the South
Take DE-1 NORTH
Take exit 95 for DE-10 toward DOVER/CAMDEN
Continue onto SOUTH BAY ROAD
Merge onto US-13 NORTH
Turn LEFT onto EAST LOOCKERMAN STREET
Continue onto LOOCKERMAN PLAZA
Turn LEFT onto FEDERAL STREET.
Kent County Courthouse will be on your RIGHT.

Parking

There is a parking garage that is free of charge located at 415 S. Governors Ave., next to the Family Court Courthouse (actual entrance is from Bank Lane), a two-block walk from the Kent County Courthouse. Please do not park in any parking spots marked reserved. Street parking is also available immediately adjacent to the courthouse on Federal Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

In addition to street parking, there are parking lots at other State office buildings, near Del-One Federal Credit Union, and a surface lot at the corner of Water Street and Governor’s Avenue. Jurors should avoid parking in the 2-hour-only parking area on Green and Water streets.
