The Delaware Court of Chancery Announces 4th Annual Student Legal Art Contest
The Delaware Court of Chancery is proud to announce its fourth annual Legal Art Contest, open to Delaware students in grades 7 through 12. This year’s prompt is: “Equity: What does it mean to you?” The art contest, which is being conducted in partnership with the Court of Chancery Historical Society, invites students to contemplate equity in modern society. Students may submit an essay, poem, visual art, or musical composition.
As of February 24, 2026, the Register in Chancery for New Castle County will be relocated from the 11th floor to the 7th floor of the Leonard L. Williams Justice Center in Wilmington. The Register in Chancery is responsible for managing court filings and records and assists litigants and members of the public in court business, including in-person at its office in each of Delaware’s three counties.
After nearly seven years of dedicated service to the Court of Chancery, the Honorable Selena E. Molina has announced her intent to leave the judiciary effective February 28, 2026. The Senior Magistrate Judge is leaving the bench to begin a career as a professional neutral, offering her services as a mediator, arbitrator, subject-matter expert, and court-appointed magistrate.
The Court of Chancery honored Attorney Christel Duff on November 17, 2025, for her service as an attorney ad litem in guardianship matters.
This year’s winner, Christel Duff, became certified as an attorney ad litem in 2024,and distinguished herself early as a person willing to go above and beyond. She is associated with The Law Office of Bonnie M. Benson, P.A., in Sussex County. She was nominated by Sr. Magistrate Molina for her efforts during a contested guardianship.

Register of Wills
The Register of Wills is responsible for assisting individuals and attorneys with the probate process and maintains records relating to estates. The Register of Wills is a clerk of the Court of Chancery and has an office in each county of the state.
