Justice of the Peace Court

Justice of the Peace Court 20 Moving to 824 Market St., 2nd floor

Court 20 had been located in the Leonard L. Williams Justice Center.

On Monday February 16, 2026, Justice of the Peace Court 20 will be moving to the second floor of 824 N. Market Street, a building that is also home to the U.S. Bankruptcy Court. Court 20 previously called the 7th floor of the Leonard L. Williams Justice Center home and is relocating to allow the Delaware Court of Chancery to expand to cope with its ever-growing docket of corporate cases. The final day for Court 20 in the Leonard L. Williams Justice Center will be Friday, February 13, 2026.

"While we recognize that moving the location of the court may be inconvenient for some who have become familiar with our location in the Leonard L. Williams Justice Center, we are enthusiastic about this new, convenient location for the court so close to Rodney Square in downtown Wilmington and believe it will serve all those who need to access our courts well." said Justice of the Peace Court Administrator Liz Petrick.

At its new location Justice of the Peace Court 20 that handles criminal matters, will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
