Help and Support is available from the following sources.
24-Hour Hotline Numbers
All hotline numbers are confidential and available 24/7. Hotlines are staffed by trained professionals who will assist in safety planning and will refer to available resources in the state of Delaware. Services are available to victims who do not speak English or who are hearing impaired (for Delaware Relay Services, dial 711).

Police-Based Victim Services
In many police departments across the state, advocates collaborate with officers to assist victims and survivors. Services include support, crisis intervention, information, and referrals. A large part of the unit's responsibility is offering victims information on the police, criminal justice system, victims' compensation, and civil relief such as the SVPO. Victims can still access support even if they do not report to law enforcement.

Survivor and Victim Support
These programs offer various types of support to survivors of sexual violence. They provide services such as answering the crisis hotline and offering long-term counseling, all of which are available either for free or at a low cost. Description of Services: Contact Lifeline is a statewide 24/7 Crisis Helpline serving all of Delaware. Helpline counselors are available for all callers in need of support. In Kent and Sussex Counties they also provide free counseling services to victims and survivors of sexual assault, including teens in high school.

Sexual Assault Response Center YWCA Delaware

Description of Services: SARC provides free and confidential assistance with completing and filing an SVPO. In addition, a courthouse accompaniment can be arranged so the survivor/victim has support while navigating the legal process. SARC also provides aftercare case management, individual/group counseling, and a 24/7 helpline at 800-773-8570.

Description of Services: Offers a broad range of prevention and intervention services throughout Kent and Sussex Counties for victims and children affected by domestic violence.
Facility Dog for Leonard L. Williams Justice Center
Counties Served: New Castle County
Description of Service: A courthouse facility dog is a professionally trained assistance dog that can provide quiet companionship to vulnerable individuals in legal settings without causing any disruption of the proceedings. Facility dogs are specially chosen because of their calm demeanor and are trained to work in a high-stress environment and act in an unobtrusive way to decrease the risk of creating legal issues.
Officer Vinn is Capital Police’s facility dog in the Leonard L. Williams Justice Center. Vinn, and his handler, help families by easing stress for adults and children alike during legal proceedings. To request the services of the facility dog, please fill out the request form on the website provided above.
